When women take care of their health, they become their own best friend.
— Maya Angelou
It is easy, as women in the modern world, to forget that health, like wealth and happiness, takes time and effort. We often run from event to event never taking a single moment for ourselves. We are divided by family, friends, career and house work. The ultimate multitaskers, we are rightly proud of ourselves for everything we accomplish in a single day. As I’ve gotten older, however, I realise there’s a fallacy at work here. Multitasking is great but it’s draining – even depressing – because the more we do, the less time we have left over for self-care. We are so busy creating joy for others, we ignore our own basic needs.
Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine is all about taking a timeout. Stopping for just 30 minutes and focusing on what you need to feel your best. Acupuncture is about you…all of you…not just a single facet. By approaching wellness from a whole-body concept, Acupuncture can assist you in returning your health to balance and creating an overall energy or Qi (pronounced chee).
As women, we have many unique health issues at different stages of our lives. The beauty of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine is that they are natural therapies and safe effective ways to support your wellbeing, no matter your age. From PMS, Fertility, Pregnancy and Menopause, Acupuncture can help restore balance and create a happier, healthier you in the process.
Having struggled with fertility issues myself, I have a special passion for babies. This particular struggle can be one of the most stressful and emotionally draining issues facing a woman. Nothing makes me happier than working in conjunction with your overall fertility treatment plan then getting the phone call and hearing there’s a baby on the way. These are the joys that make every day special for me.
I believe that one of the most beautiful things in life is to see women supporting women. We are all unique but we are also the same. By supporting one another and providing a shoulder to cry on, a helping hand or a hug, we can make a huge difference in someone’s life. So do yourself a favour…stop running and take a moment for you. It isn’t selfish - it’s essential.
